Support Package:

Abstinence-based Supported Housing & Community-based Detoxification Programmes

Emerge currently manages abstinence-based supported housing & community-based detoxification programmes in various areas of Bristol. Each resident is expected to attend weekly house meetings and regular one-to-one sessions with their Emerge support worker. Their support worker will develop a care plan tailored to suit the resident’s individual needs.

Residents can expect assistance with:

  • Awareness and insight into the recovery process
  • Benefit forms, personal budgeting or debt counselling
  • Identifying aspirations for the future, and planning to achieve these
  • Access to training/development/education opportunities
  • Development of skills for independent living
  • Resettlement into long term accommodation

All of our properties are fully furnished, with internet access and operate on a self-catering basis. However, each property receives a weekly delivery of food from FareShare. (This food can vary week-to-week, so is designed to help our residents, rather than to provide them with all of their meals.) Each resident has their own private bedroom, sharing bathroom, lounge, dining and kitchen facilities.

Emerge also has self-contained flats available for those who have completed Third Stage Treatment and are ready for the move on to independent living.

Temporary Accommodation

Emerge currently has several houses throughout Bristol for temporary accommodation purposes. Residents should have a desire to improve their current position and will be given support towards moving on to more appropriate, permanent housing whilst engaging with Emerge.

Residents can expect assistance with:

  • Applications to other housing providers
  • Advocacy
  • Benefit forms
  • Accessing further support
  • Making and meeting appointments/interviews

These properties are fully furnished, a variety of breakfast food is provided and there is a weekly delivery of food from FareShare. Each resident has their own, secure bedroom, sharing bathroom and kitchen facilities.
